First and Second Grades
What we are doing this year.
First and second graders will learn basic music elements and will perform for the Christmas pageant in December.
Instruments
Students will play basic rhythms and chords on multiple instruments.
Solfege Handsigns
Students will start with So-Mi and later we will add La in First Grade.
In Second Grade, students will start with So-Mi-La and we will add Do and Re.
Both grades will sight-read both and learn to improvise songs with both.
Christmas Pageant
Students perform with other grade levels for Curé's Christmas Pageant.
